Overview of Our Children’s Activities

Children are so curious and they will have the opportunity to be awed at Union Fair. The sights are many and varied. Come see exotic breeds of livestock, a miniature wooden farm with hundreds of pieces created lovingly for folks young and old to enjoy, or watch K-9 officers work with their four-legged partners.

Saturday is dedicated to children. Entertainment is geared to the young, and young at heart. Watch the balloon artist creating and sharing creatures. Listen to the Singing Cowboy or take a ride in a Monster Truck. Enter to win a free bicycle at the first of our three raffles.

The fun for children doesn’t end on Saturday. Opportunities abound all week for competitions such as pie eating contest, bubblegum blowing, cookie decorating, or pedal tractor pulling. In case you haven’t noticed, we think children are pretty great, and we have given a great deal of thought to providing educational and entertaining activities. We think your children will agree.

Bicycle Give-Aways

Each year, at the Union Fair, youth have the opportunity to go home with their very own bicycle and helmet. Thanks to the generosity of businesses, organizations and fair vendors donations are made to purchase new bicycles for the give-a-ways. Three categories, by age, have the chance to enter a drawing to win one of the bikes and a helmet. Three drawings are made on three separate days with bikes for girls and boys in each age group. Donations come from throughout our regional area of Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties.
